Insider buying clusters and Form 4 alerts

Tickerbot ingests SEC Form 4 filings in real time and tags insider transactions by type, role, and discretionary status. Get notified when multiple insiders buy the same stock within a short window — the strongest insider signal there is.

Insider buys, sells, and cluster detection

From CEO open-market purchases to insider buying clusters to insider/analyst disagreement — all automated.

Insider buying clusters (the highest-signal setup)

A single insider buy is noisy. A cluster — three or four insiders buying within thirty days — is different. It usually means the people closest to the business are seeing something the market hasn't priced in yet. Tickerbot groups Form 4 filings by ticker and time window.

Example
Three or more insiders bought the same ticker within the last 30 days
CRSP 4 insider buys in 18 days totaling $2.4M. Includes CEO and CFO.

CEO and CFO open-market buys (the conviction signal)

CEO and CFO purchases are the highest-conviction insider signals. Tickerbot can filter for just C-level buys and exclude 10b5-1 plan transactions (which are pre-scheduled, not discretionary).

Example
CEO or CFO open-market buy above $500K, excluding 10b5-1 plans
OPEN CEO bought $850K, discretionary purchase.

Insider buying on beaten-down stocks (the contrarian play)

Insiders buying after a stock is down 20-30% YTD is often a contrarian signal. The people who know the business best are stepping in when the market is pessimistic. Tickerbot can combine insider activity with price drawdowns.

Example
Insider buying cluster on a stock that's down more than 25% YTD
SNAP 3 insider buys totaling $1.2M. Stock down 28% YTD.

Insider/analyst disagreement (the divergence trade)

One of the highest-conviction setups: insiders buying while analysts are downgrading. Tickerbot can alert you when insiders and the Street disagree — and historically, insiders win.

Example
Insider buying cluster on a stock with a recent analyst downgrade
CRSP 2 insider buys $900K total. Downgraded to Hold last week.

Insider selling clusters (the risk signal)

Just as insider buying is bullish, insider selling clusters can be warning signs. Tickerbot can alert you when multiple insiders at a company you hold are selling within a short window — giving you time to reassess.

Example
Three or more insiders sold shares of a stock I hold in the last 30 days
XYZ 4 insider sells totaling $8M. All discretionary.

Insider activity combined with earnings

Insiders buying in the weeks before earnings is a high-signal setup. Tickerbot lets you stack insider activity with earnings calendar conditions to catch these pre-earnings accumulations.

Example
Insider buys on stocks reporting earnings in 7-21 days
NVDA CEO bought $2.1M. Earnings in 14 days.
